Summer vacation looks a bit different this year so we're helping you embrace the STAY-cation!
We're all trying to stay closer to home this year and while that might mean your typical summer vacation was canceled, it doesn't mean there's no way to enjoy the summer. So, we've compiled a list of staycation spots within driving distance of New River Valley. Stay safe and enjoy!
1. Kairos Wilderness Lodge
Kairos is 1515 acres of beautiful Appalachian Mountain wilderness nestled against the New River. Here, you can create an adventure.
2. Mountain Lake Lodge & Conservancy
The newly reopened Mountain Lake Lodge is a getaway featuring cottages, a stone lodge, luxury cottages with fireplaces, and a grand historic Hotel built in 1936 out of native sandstone.
3. Claytor Lake State Park
Altogether you can hike about 7 miles. There is a plethora of deer living within the park, and the water is clear and clean. 7$ vehicle entry and 3$ for weekday, 4$ for weekend swimming at the beach. This park is separated out nicely between the cabins, beach area, boat launch, kayak rentals and pavilions to rent for get-togethers.
4. Winterfrost Farm

5. Natural Bridge, VA
Home of mother-nature’s enormous and breathtaking rock bridge of Rockbridge County, Natural Bridge sits in the southern end of the Shenandoah Valley flanked by the Blue Ridge mountains.
6. Wilderness Adventure at Eagles Landing
Whether you are interested in a camping trip or staying in one of the lovely cabins, Wilderness Adventure can accommodate you accordingly. They offer 3 meals a day and almost any outdoor activity you could imagine. Reservations are required...simply send an email or call.
